Impressions 1999-2025 is the new solo exhibition by Alessandro Vicario that will open at the Falegnameria of Palazzo Mosca in Pesaro.
Curated by Alberto Mazzacchera, the exhibition is realised in collaboration with the MUNAF - Museo Nazionale di Fotografia, Milan-Cinisello Balsamo and Fondazione CRC - Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo.
Bringing together works from different photographic series produced between 1999 and 2025, the exhibition offers a concentrated view of Alessandro Vicario's research into memory, trace, and the spaces of dwelling.
Walls, domestic surfaces, shutters, everyday objects, and natural details become the focus of a sustained observation attentive to the marks left by time. Traces of use, stratifications, and subtle material variations emerge as quiet presences, transforming fragments of reality into images of intense visual concentration and perceptual depth.
The title Impressions points to the dual nature of the image: as imprint - a physical trace impressed upon things - and as impression - a perceptual experience shaped by looking.
Alongside the exhibition, Impressions of Faces, realised in collaboration with the Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro, presents a photographic and film-based performance dedicated to portraiture and the singularity of each face.
A catalogue is published by ELR Edizioni Le Ricerche, featuring critical essays by Gigliola Foschi and Alberto Mazzacchera.
