Mia: Photo Fair

We are pleased to announce our participation with works by Alessandra  Baldoni and Pio Tarantini in the 15th edition of MIA Photo Fair BNP Parisbas, Milan.

This edition revolves around the theme "Metamorphosis": a vital process of transformation that affects languages, identities, artistic practices, and visual codes.

We are grateful to Emanuela Mazzonis for selecting us, along with 10 other galleries, for the 'Reportage beyond reportage' section she curated. This section takes viewers on a visual journey that reaffirms photography's power not just as a tool of documentation, but as a reflection on memory and change, on identity and on the uniqueness of the image.  

The works on display have been selected for their unique interpretation of the written word. For Pio Tarantini, Marina Cvetaeva's 'Earthly Clues: Moscow Diary 1917/1919 is a source of inspiration and a key to understanding his work, which explores some of the fundamental concepts of human existence. Alessandra Baldoni, on the other hand, uses writing as a filter between the observer and her photographic work: the poetic text stimulates the observer's imagination, giving them time to engage with the image before it is fully revealed.

Finally, Lab 1930. Fotografia contemporanea is also taking part in MIA OFF, the city event dedicated to promoting exhibition spaces, galleries and artists' studios in Milan. The exhibition "Ashes of the Future" by Alexandre Dupeyron can be visited during the opening days of the fair, including Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd, from 10 am to 6 pm by appointment only (via Mantova 21, Milan).
